Meditation

Meditation is generally an inwardly oriented, personal practice, which individuals can do by themselves. Prayer beads or other ritual objects may be used during meditation. Meditation may involve invoking or cultivating a feeling or internal state, such as compassion, or attending to a specific focal point. The term can refer to the state itself, as well as to practices or techniques employed to cultivate the state.

Meditation helps an individual overcome these emotions to facilitate a calm peaceful mind and a healthy and stress free body.Upon daily practice an individual will blossom into an unshakable personality. With increase in the number of people who are clam, peaceful and healthy will facilitate a social transformation, enabling a society that is trusting, happy and content.

Amrithapuri

Amritapuri is now the headquarters of Amma’s worldwide mission and the spiritual home for Amma’s monastic disciples and hundreds of householder devotees. All the residents have dedicated their lives for realising God and serving the world. Everyday, Amma’s children from across India and abroad flock here to have Amma’s darshan. She sees each and every one, listens to their worries, consoles, encourages, provides new direction to their lives.

Amritapuri is the living example of the ancient Indian ideal “the whole world is one family” (vasudhaiva kutumbakam). Here you will find people from all parts of the world — speaking different languages and having different customs and religions — all living under one roof. In their quest for the meaning of life, each has forgotten their differences and become a child of Amma.

Matrimandir

At the very centre of Auroville one finds the 'soul of the city', the Matrimandir, situated in a large open area called 'Peace', from where the future township will radiate outwards. The atmosphere is quiet and charged, and the area beautiful, even though at present large parts of it are still under construction.

As yet incomplete, the Matrimandir emerges as a large golden sphere which seems to be rising out of the earth, symbolising the birth of a new consciousness seeking to manifest. Its slow and steady progress towards completion is followed by many.

While walking through the lovely green Matrimandir Gardens with their great variety of flowers, shrubs and trees, one's attention is greatly drawn by this important and powerful feature at the heart of the city which was seen by the Mother as the "symbol of the Divine's answer to man's aspiration for perfection" and as "the central cohesive force" for the growth of Auroville.

Set amidst the dense forests at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains, is the Dhyanalinga Yogic Temple, the first of its kind to be completed in over 2000 years. Created by a profound mystic and yogi, it embodies the distilled essence of yogic science.

This powerful meditative space does not ascribe to any particular faith or belief system nor does it require any ritual, prayer, or worship.

"Just sitting silently for a few minutes within the sphere of Dhyanalinga is enough to make even those unaware of meditation experience a state of deep meditativeness" - Sadhguru

Dhyanalinga is the distilled essence of yogic science. It does not ascribe to any particular belief or faith. It does not require any pooja or worship. Just sitting silently for few minutes within the sphere of Dhyanalinga is enough to make even those unaware of meditation experience a state of deep meditativeness and feel the divine energy that overflows from this glorious form.

Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa-Vidyalya

Nestled in the cool heights of the mountains is the rustic hill station [G1] of Mount Abu and, just a 10-minute walk away, you find the international headquarters of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa-Vidyalaya , fondly called 'Madhuban' (meaning 'Forest of Honey'). A living social laboratory and a largely self-sufficient community, it is the place to which a large international family of practicing yogis comes each year.

When a person steps inside the holy land of Madhuban, one can feel pure spiritual vibrations that give immense experience of lasting peace and inner joy not available elsewhere. This is because it is the place of divine descent of incorporeal God Shiva; it has long been the karma bhoomi(the land of divine actions) of the founder father Prajapita Brahma and Mateshwari Saraswathi. It is the place where thousands of spiritual effort makers converge to do intense meditation. The result one could see for themselves are the peaceful vibrations evident in the campus.  When you discover the true inner happiness and peace and forget the burden on the soul, you would realize that Madhuban is the greatest pilgrim center.
